Bringing health and social institutions to life through screens: the example of the John Bost Foundation

3/8/2020

Within this institution, which welcomes dependent elderly people and patients suffering from psychological disorders and physical and/or mental disabilities, the mission is to provide care and support to residents. At the organizational level, this therefore means little time to see each other, to exchange and to get the right messages across between management and staff. So how do you find the right tool for boost internal communication, but also that between caregivers, educational staff, residents and their families? This is where dynamic communication with a screen system can contribute to change.

The John Bost Foundation: a place of care, life and meaning

A Protestant foundation created in 1848, it welcomes 1,700 residents within 38 establishments and services in France whose original philosophy, “structures without walls or fences”, is still current. Among his 2,000 employees, including nursing, support, and administrative staff, few have access to a computer station on a regular basis. For Arnaud Bigex, director of the foundation's communication department, it was necessary to boost information sharing:

It was essential to find a means of communication that was easy to manage, accessible and that would be read and seen by as many people as possible in each establishment. The foundation needed an instant communication tool in addition to meetings, emails, internal letters and paper displays, for a multi-site organization where communications differ between regions and institutions.

Digital signage: the ideal solution

Digital signage is the solution chosen by the John Bost Foundation. It is a simple solution that can be managed directly by the managers of the foundation, in order to organize and display relevant content on screens, regardless of location. Each site includes at least one screen so that anyone (visitors, patients, residents, residents, families, families, nursing, support and administrative staff) can see the life of the establishment.

Screens as a place for sharing

So these are 39 screens that are installed and equipped with the Cenareo communication solution. Easy to use, the solution allows the managers of each establishment or site to be able to publish content and manage their screens, in addition to national communication, managed from the historic headquarters in Dordogne.

Thus, for each establishment, messages broadcast throughout the country are superimposed, for each establishment, the announcement of activities, photos of events, special moments, the daily menu, birthdays, birthdays, birthdays, weather, current news, etc.

The screen has also become an attraction: appointments are given to residents for special viewing sessions. When everyone is together, the manager launches the new content. A moment of sharing for residents and care and support teams!

When travel and physical contact no longer exist, what is left?

More than ever during the Covid-19 crisis, non-physical communication was necessary: not only to inform about the health protocols in place but also, and above all, to continue to create links between people and establishments.

Remembering past events, celebrating good news, sharing the life of establishments... so many messages to help residents and teams of professionals feel less alone and cope with this period of isolation.
