11/4/2019

Are you welcoming a new employee in a few weeks and want to introduce them to your colleagues? What are the keys to presenting it well to all of your teams? Let's discover them together in this article.

Welcoming a new team member is an important thing in business. Indeed, it is necessary to inform it in advance and integrate it well when the day comes. Let's describe the various ways to present it for these two options.

Upstream

Whether you are a director or a human resources manager, you must Mandatory to inform the teams of the arrival of a new collaborator. By email in your internal Newsletter or on your Intranet, a short presentation text is to be done. Provide this person's name, first name, and job title. If it is an intern or a work-study student, specify the current training and the duration of the contract.

To be sure to keep your colleagues as informed as possible, you can make an introductory video. Announce in this video all your arrivals as well as the information mentioned above. You will be sure that your colleagues will see your video because it will be more powerful in addition to the many emails they receive.

Finally, do not hesitate to ask your superiors to make their own presentation video and welcome. You will then transmit this video to the new ones if the leaders are not present on the day they arrive.

D-day

There are several ways to introduce your new collaborators to all of your teams. Here are the different ways:

1. Present them over breakfast

If there is one thing that brings all of your teams together, it is breakfast (and aperitif). By organizing a company breakfast, you are sure that a good part of your teams will participate. You will thus be able to introduce them to the new partners while sharing a moment of conviviality. They will then be able to discover them and learn more about them.

2. Take a tour of the offices

The easiest way to meet everyone in a business is to take a tour of the offices ! Well if you are a start-up or an SME, it should be quite fast. On the other hand, if you are a large company, this may take some time.

We do not recommend this technique because it does not really allow you to present yourself. The new employee will pass “in a rush” from office to office. Even if your colleagues have been informed of his arrival thanks to the email, they will not have No time to get to know each other better. In addition, if some offices are empty, you will have to go back to represent yourself.

3. Take photos of the new ones

The current startup trend is To list employees using photos. It's not unusual to see kitchen walls filled with portraits. This allows everyone to be able to find the names of employees as well as their entry date.

A concept that we love at EasyMovie and that we use in addition to the following point. So you can take a picture each new employee and then display it wherever you want. An additional tip would be to post this photo on your Intranet or a collaborative platform if you have one.

4. Make an employee presentation video

We end with the point that you will surely like the most, it is about make a short presentation video. We adopted this model at EasyMovie because it allows all our employees, regardless of the country of residence, to meet new people. We ask each new person to show up in under two minutes by explaining what he wants. Whether it is the studies carried out, the passions or even his activities carried out, he is free to choose what he wants to share!

Once this video is made, it is directly published on the social network of the company. All teams can then view the video and react. The conversation then becomes easier when people meet each other during a break or in the hallway!
