SPIE press release:
The Tertiary division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire, a subsidiary of the SPIE group, an independent European leader in multi-technical services in the fields of energy and communications, announces the launch of its “Energy Management” pack, a tailor-made solution that offers its customers in the tertiary sector perfect control of their energy consumption.

A major challenge for the Tertiary sector
Developed by the South-West Business Department of the Tertiary division, in partnership with two Toulouse startups members of IoT Valley, UbiGreen and Cenareo, this new pack perfectly meets the requirements of the “Tertiary” decree, which provides, for managers of buildings over 1,000 m², for managers of buildings over 1,000 m², the establishment of computer platforms for collecting and monitoring energy consumption. The stated objective: to contribute to a gradual reduction in energy consumption by 60% by 2050.
The UbiGreen solution, now integrated by SPIE, combines a computer platform with the deployment of sensors on the main energy and fluid metering points in the building.
Accessible securely via a web browser, it allows precise monitoring of several parameters including the following:
- optimization of the powers subscribed to by suppliers
- Alert of abnormal consumption and overruns of the subscribed powers
- automatic control of energy bills to detect possible billing errors
- analysis and optimization of set temperatures and operating schedules of HVAC equipment (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning)
“Our system is a real “tracker” of abnormal consumption in terms of the use of the building and external data (heating operating on weekends, lights on in broad daylight, water leaks, etc.)”, specifies Pierre-Olivier Bessol, CEO and co-founder of UbiGreen.
For customers in the Tertiary division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire, the return on investment from such an installation is almost immediate.”
Dynamic signage to raise user awareness
Cenareo, another SPIE partner on this offer, designed the dynamic display system to make energy consumption data visible and understandable. The aim is to make everyone aware of an approach to improving energy performance by communicating in real time via screens the consumption and key indicators of the building. “UbiGreen and Cenareo allow us to translate data into indicators that are simple for users to understand,” underlines Frédéric Laporte-Fauret, director of south-western development at the Tertiary division of SPIE Industrie & Tertiaire. “The simple awareness by users of their consumption. Energy makes it possible to reduce these by 15% in a few months”.”
