How do you create simple, effective and cinematic transitions, even (and especially) when you're an amateur?
If you're looking to improve your shooting skills, YouTuber Darius Britt, aka D4Darius, specializes in cases like yours. Earlier this year, the young man made a name for himself with a playful video explaining how to compose an image using only Will Smith shots. This time, he tackles the transitions between each shot and, in less than three minutes, gives an overview of what can be done to make your images more dynamic, even before going through the editing and graphic design stages. Check out his video below, and keep his three tips in mind:
1) Don't hesitate to use several transition techniques in the same video, even mixing them
2) Plan your shots carefully.
This type of transition is an integral part of the shoot, and cannot be added in post-production.
3) And the last - common sense: the more you practice these techniques, the more natural they will become.
And since Darius' enthusiasm is infectious, it's time to get started. Let's get to work!
